Behind every book is a wealth of stories. The books we’ve published over the years—over 150 titles—were born out of creative collaborations with talented authors and artists. And you, our readers, are very much a part of our story!
Looking ahead, my small, dedicated staff and I remain passionately committed to creating world-class publications that shine a lantern on Philippine culture and heritage.
Years ago, a gentleman in his late 50s walked up to me and said, simply, “My children grew up with Tahanan Books.” His words made all of those decades worthwhile.

Who we are
Named for the Filipino word for “home,” Tahanan aims to nurture a passion for learning with books that celebrate Philippine culture and history.
Renowned for its thoughtful attention to both text and artwork, Tahanan titles have won several awards which include the National Children’s Book Award by the Philippine Board on Books for Children (PBBY), a Ceres Alabado Award for Outstanding Children’s Literature as well as the Gintong Aklat Awards given by the Book Development Association of the Philippines (BDAP).
What we do
Tahanan has produced an impressive array of over 150 titles. Its diverse publist showcases biographies of Philippine heroes, folk tale and short story anthologies, reference and science books, bilingual & Filipino picture books, not to mention a line of witty Pinoy pop culture books.
