“Who can say that proverbs are a thing of the past? Our proverbs are as true today as they have been for generations of Filipinos.

In culling through the research, I found a heartwarming affirmation of the wealth of our native oral and written traditions. How gratifying it was to uncover the universality of many Filipino proverbs which had counterparts in age-old proverbs in the western world!”
